Groundhog Day was a few weeks ago and as you recall, Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow. What does that mean? Well according to Phil, we can expect spring to make an early appearance this year. I still recall having 60 degree temps in December so, I made a promise that I would not complain when winter eventually woke up from hibernation.
So yeah…I’m holding my tongue. If you follow along on Instagram, you already know that I was freezing my butt off in Rochester where the high was just 0 degrees on Saturday. I think that I deserve an award.
Although I’m not complaining (ahem), spring is fondly missed around here. So today, I’m sharing what I am looking forward to when spring returns.
Now I’m no farmer but, I do enjoy getting out in our vegetable garden and I miss it. If you still haven’t tried gardening maybe this will be the year that you give it a try. There are so many great reasons to start a garden . Maybe, we’ll get a blueberry bush this year.
I’ve been keeping an eye on spring fashion and the colors and prints have me wanting more. Like I can totally envision a day in DC in these floral culottes. This top and skirt from Olivia Palermo is romantic simplicity at it’s best. And a girl can dream right?
Springtime in the DC area is all about the cherry blossoms. I’m not a big fan of parades but spending a leisurely day over by the Tidal basin is not out of the question. And because spring flowers also mean spring allergies, it’ll be foolish to not take along some allergy medicine too.
Spring Tea Party
Ever since visiting London, the idea of hosting a spring tea party has been on my mind. I even have the perfect spring tea party menu. But, I have to say I’m not sure I’ll have to time to plan one of these this year. Things have just been super busy. Maybe, I’ll just call around to a few hotels and make reservations for their high tea instead.
Getting out with the family in the cool spring air is just the best. Spring walks ease, they soothe, they allow me to breathe. Ahhhh…
Yes, these are the things I’m looking forward to this spring.
