Thanks for coming back for another week of Mom Style. Today, I am chatting it up with Adanna from Rattles and Heels. Adanna lives in New York with her two precious ones. Read below as this sassy momma shares her “Mom Style”.
Q: What’s one thing you wished someone had told you about this beautiful yet ever changing journey?
Women tend to be raw and candid about motherhood in this age of social media so I had a good idea that parenting was physically demanding. But now that I have two kids, I realize how grueling it is to care for two children, home, maintain relationships and care for myself. Now that I have less time and energy to spare, I’m very conscious of how I invest my time.
Q: Who is your favorite TV mom?
Claire Huxtable of The Cosby Show. She guided her kids, showed them love and encouragement without being overbearing. I love how she managed to be present when she was with her husband and with each her children and still have a successful career.
Q: How old are your children?
My daughter turns 4 this month and my son is 13 months old.
Q: What’s it like being a mom of two? What should other mamas know?
During my second pregnancy I worried that I wouldn’t be capable of equally sharing my love between two children. A year later, I can confidently tell you that it’s absolutely possible and it fills my heart daily to see how much my kids love each other. Parenting two kids is exciting, there’s never a dull moment. I have special bonds with each of my children so it’s important for me to regularly make special dates with them. I would take my daughter for ice cream or my son to chase birds at the park. It doesn’t have to be grand just something they enjoy doing with me.
Other moms should know that when you have two kids you can’t be to hard core with scheduling your children. Allow, free time and be flexible and go with their flow sometimes.
Q: What is your favorite activity to do with your children? Why?
Q: If your “Mom Style” was a song title, what would it be? (No, seriously I need a real song)
Three Little Birds Bob Marley
Q: Which blog post that you are most proud of.
10 Healthy Tree Nut and Peanut Free Snacks
Q: What’s your “Mom Style”? Cool & Calm, Spirited & Free, Savvy & Sophisticated or “Type A” All the Way
Spirited and Free
Q: As a mom, what do you know for sure?
I know that everything always works out that I love my kids, they love me and I am not perfect but that’s fine.
