When I started Mom Style, my intention was to give moms a peek of what it was like to be a mom of “x” number of kids. Not only that but, I thought it would be a fun way to celebrate moms and the fact that we are more alike than we are different. And what mom doesn’t want to talk about her kids? So today, we are chatting with “Mom of Three”…Vera Sweeney of Lady and the Blog.

Vera Sweeney

OK, the truth is Vera writes more than on Lady and the Blog.

She is also the founder of I’m Not Obsessed, Babyrazzi and co-founder of Getting Gorgeous.  To say that I am excited to have Vera here is a tiny bit of an understatement. So before I start rambling, go ahead and read about Vera’s Mom Style below.

Q: What’s one thing you wished someone had told you about this beautiful yet ever changing journey?

I wish someone told me that I would never sleep again. It’s almost as if I am just waiting for one of my three babies to wake every night. I don’t remember the last peaceful night of sleep I had since becoming a mom in 2005. I’ve since been told I won’t sleep until they all graduate from college which is borderline depressing.

Q: Who is your favorite TV mom?

She’s not really a TV mom – more of a MOVIE MOM, but I always love the roles that Jennifer Garner plays. No matter the title, her character is always loving and caring. Sometimes it’s frantic. Sometimes she loses her way. But the bottom line is – she always loves her children to the fullest.

Q: How old are your children?

1,7 and 9

Q: What’s it like being a mom of  three? What should other mamas know?

Life is full of blessings and laughter and chaos. We are always running around and trying to play catch up, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Q: What is your favorite activity to do with your children? Why?

I love to sit and read in my bed with the kids. We each pick our own books and then sometimes we read aloud to one another. Caleb – my youngest – usually plays around with a picture book during this time.

Q: If your “Mom Style” was a song title, what would it be? (No, seriously I need a real song)

Q: Which blog post are you are most proud of?

Why you should have that last baby

Q: What’s your “Mom Style”? Cool & Calm, Spirited & Free, Savvy & Sophisticated or “Type A” All the Way

Cool and calm

Q: As a mom, what do you know for sure?

I know that I was meant to have my children. That my purpose was to love them. And that my absolute joy will be watching them grow into adults.

Thanks for taking the time out of your hectic schedule to share your Mom Style on The Domestic Life Stylist, Vera.  You are truly an inspiration. A bit of a warning…if you are on the fence about having another baby, I think Vera’s post, “Why You Should Have Another Baby“, will push you right over.

Another wonderful interview! I really enjoyed ‘meeting’ Vera of Lady and The Blog. I love how she said “I wish someone told me I would never sleep again”. My son is 21 and I’m afraid that she is absolutely right 🙂 Thank you for sharing this excellent interview with us at the Hearth and Soul hop.
