Are you ready to change things up at the dinner table? One of the things you may consider adding to your dinner menu is themed dinners. Following a consistent theme each week takes some out of the guesswork about what’s for dinner. I’m talking about Taco Tuesday, Fish Fridays and of course Meatless Mondays. My partner World Port Seafood. is company that delivers fresh seafood right to your door (sponsor).

I’m talking about haddock, shrimp, lobster, scallops, sea bass, sole, cod, snapper and more. In my World Port Seafood order, the Argentinian Wild Shrimp stood out front and center. Not only are the shrimp wild caught butthey come already deveined, are huge and ready to cook.

Honestly, one of the tasks I don’t enjoy is cleaning shrimp. I like the fact that you can just portion out the amount of shrimp you want from the freezer, season it to your likening and in less than five minutes it’s all done. Side note, if you’re cooking shrimp any longer than that you’re most likely overcooking them and that’s just not right.

Initially, I wasn’t sure how I was going to prepare the shrimp. But then I decided on taking things back to my island roots and currying it. I paired the curry shrimp with mashed plantains. If you haven’t had mashed plantains let me just tell you…it will change your life.

And the way that the plantains just paired so nicely with plump shrimp, only fungi could be better. It was the perfect way to sop up all that creamy spicy saucy goodness.

Check out this video to see how you can bring some curry island spice into your life and easily recreate this recipe at home. Not only did the shrimp from World Port Seafood cook perfectly but, most of the size was retained after cooking. Again, cooking times will vary but, I would say don’t cook these more than three minutes…five minutes max.
