I know that you’ve heard this before but life goes by quickly. It seems like just yesterday that I was a sun kissed island girl trying to figure out adults and the world around me. As I grew up, I wondered where I would live, what I would become, who I would marry, how many kids I would have? I just couldn’t wait to grow up.

Fast forward many years later and I now know the answers to these questions. I call DC metro area home. I am a pharmacist turned online influencer/blogger (crazy right?). I married my college sweetheart and we have 2 beautifully inquisitive children.

I feel so incredibly blessed.

I had the privilege of celebrating my 39 birthday last week and birthdays always get me a bit introspective.

Birthdays are my personal New Year and so I take stock of life, goals, dreams and lessons learned. One of the things, that I consider every year is doing a better job of having slows days and living more in the moment. I know better, so it’s rather unreasonable to think that I’m going to ever slow down.

But especially when I’m with the kids, one more bedtime story can’t hurt. Five more minutes on the playground is not a travesty and maybe the blankie can come with us sometimes.

Take my 3 year old for example, it seems like just yesterday that I was holding this little guy in my arms, smelling him, nursing him…just trying to soak in every bit of him that I could. Now, he has his own opinions, is potty trained and has his own social calendar. Sometimes I feel like he is more popular than me!

And with age four only 6 weeks away, Lysol has made it possible for me to live more in the moment with Lysol® Laundry Sanitizer. We’re going to soak up the last weeks of three until four rolls around. That means that his otherwise home bound blanket has found it’s way to many places that it’s never been, as I loosened up the reigns on its jurisdiction for a bit.

Backyard Picnics

Big Sister’s Tennis Lessons

Department Store Errands

and…Afternoon Story time

A field trip like that can make anything really icky.

About Lysol Laundry Sanitizer

Luckily, Lysol Laundry Sanitizer kills 99.9% of bacteria like S. aureus and k. pneumoniae. The pharmacist, and most importantly, the mom in me can’t be mad at that. The last thing I need with our busy schedules are any more sick days on the calendar.

Not only is Lysol is helping to make more fond and healthy memories but, it’s 100% bleach free, even in cold water. I can’t be the only person that has walked away from doing the laundry with bleach stains on my pants.

Just put two capfuls of Lysol into the fabric softener compartment at the start of the cycle and it will work hard to keep germs at bay.

“Life is short, take the blankie”, is not only about kids and attachments but it’s a mantra for life. Take the vacation. Buy the dress. Follow your dreams!

Share one of the places your child’s blankie goes for a chance to win a bottle of Lysol Laundry Sanitizer.

My son’s blanket is not allowed to leave the house and/or car. He can drag it around the house and take it in the car, but that’s it. He used to take it everywhere – park, mall, grocery store, daycare, etc., but it was too hard for me to keep clean and it was getting damaged so we started the rule that it is not to leave the house/car. It was a tough rule to implement for about a month, now he doesn’t argue as he’s used to it.

Rather than a blanket, my kids have favorite stuffed white bears from Gund that have been with them everywhere! They’ve traveled the world, been to camp, to the grandparents’ houses, and are their nightly sleeping companions even at 10 and 13!

That’s so special. I got a teddy bear when I was six and my mom kept it long after I left the house. About 1 year ago, she gave it back to me and I passed it on to my 6 year old daughter. Lovies definitely have a special place in family memories.

Evan has a $3 blanket from a drugstore we picked up when he was sick years ago. Now, at 10 years old, he sleeps with it and takes it on vacation for a piece of home!
