Summer is almost over but before you start breaking out the fall gear, here are a few late summer activities that you still have time to add to your summer bucketlist.
Ice Cream Truck
Take the kids for some ice cream by visiting a local ice cream truck. There is something about hearing those melodic tunes that brings out the child in all of us. If you are not sure when your local truck is coming around, Ben & Jerry’s is on an ice cream truck tour and a simple search on Twitter can bring back lots of other “cool” ice cream truck options.
Bike Riding
Of course you can go bike riding in the fall but a summer bike ride is so much more fun and warmer too.
Amusement Park
Amusement parks are just a warm weather staple and no matter your age, there is something for everyone. Places like Dutch Wonderland and Sesame Place cater specifically to small guests while attractions at Six Flags draw a more mature/adventurous crowd.
Baseball Game
Baseball is America’s past time, but don’t worry if you can’t catch a MLB game. Look out for minor league games near you.
Local Fairs
I love local fairs and your family will too. There’s a bit of something there for everyone. Games, rides, food, music, animals, activities and sometimes even health screenings that will keep mom, dad, and kids happy.
So, are you ready to hold on to summer a little while longer? Quick, jot down these late summer activities and get planning. Make this summer one that your family won’t soon forget.

These really are great ideas! I have fond memories of going to local fairs in late summer when I was a kid – and there’s nothing like a good bike ride in the crisp autumn air. Thank you for sharing with the Hearth and Soul hop, Lisa. Pinned and will tweet 🙂

There is nothing like making fun family memories together, no matter what the season.
