Spring is around the corner. Yippee! Can you tell that I am excited? Spring for me means warmer weather, being outdoors, tulips/ gardening and…Spring Cleaning! I do not usually glean at the thought of cleaning and organization but, I know it has to be done.

Here are some simple ways to re-use items in your home and get a “jumpstart” on your spring cleaning ventures.

Upcycling: the process of converting waste products and or otherwise “used” materials into new usable items- Wikipedia

One of the items I reuse on a daily basis is plastic grocery bags. I’ve re-used plastic bags for everything from kitty poop and dirty diapers to an impromptu shower cap and I know that I am not the only one.

Here are two quick and easy ways to organize your home and turn your trash into “organizing treasures”.

Pen Holder

Use an old flower vase or glass

And instantly convert it into a Pen Holder!

My friend Jacqueise let me document how she turned a simple apple case into a novel way to organize her jewelry!

She purchased the apples from a bulk membership warehouse. ( I guess she really loves apples!)

Aren’t these apples gorgeous?

Simply clip the crate in half, remove the apples and insert your favorite jewelry and accessorize for instant organization.

Place your instant jewelry organizer into any drawer!

What are your favorite ways to upcycle and organize around the home?
