In my case, running a home business, while chasing a 4 year old and nursing an 8 month old can leave me feeling zapped by the day’s end. Carving out little bits of time during the day has become essential to my well being. Here are some tricks that I use to sneak some “me time” while letting my inner glam gal bloom in the process. Do Your Eyebrows Groomed eyebrows are my secret weapon for when I want to look “put together”. Ten to fifteen bucks will get you a well threaded or waxed arch in most places. Five minutes and a pair of tweezers will go far if you can’t make it to the salon. Take Some Tea Time I love tea. I am a 2-3 cup a day gal. Green tea is my tea of choice. Besides the fact that drinking tea is calming, green tea is also packed with antioxidants. In 5 minutes, you can be sipping on something that will help reduce stress, plays a beneficial role in heart and brain health and even increases metabolism. I say “yay” to all three! That’s an easy way to sneak some me time into anyone’s day. Play Some Great Music Whether it’s tapping into music playlists while getting dinner ready or playing music while brushing one’s teeth, music is relieving, healing, elevating…not to mention, so much fun. So grab your toothbrush, brush those pearly whites and crank up some tunes. Have a Good Breakfast On really busy mornings, I sometimes wake up ahead of the family and have a quiet mini breakfast first. Silk helps me do that without having to feel guilty. Silk Almondmilk has become quite the staple in my house. It’s what I use in cereal, oatmeal and many of my recipes. Switching our milk was an easy way to be more intentional about our health. Swapping Silk cup for cup in any of your favorite recipes makes things really easy. Some of my favorite ways to use Silk Almondmilk are this hot hot chocolate and my breakfast quinoa with fruit and maple. All Silk products are made without GMO’s, are lactose-free and are a great addition to vegetarian and meat eating diets alike. The thing is “Silk Helps You Bloom”. It’s an easy easy way to keep the “pep in your step” and let your inner glam gal shine. Try it for yourself. You can get a 75 cents off coupon for signing up for the Silk newsletter and receive occasional coupons, lifestyle tips, tasty recipes and news of contests and promotions.
