Eggnog French toast with caramelized bananas We are a pancake loving, waffle eating, French toast loving family. Most weekday breakfasts are of the healthier variety: oatmeal, maybe some salmon and eggs, some cereal and fruit…But once the weekend rolls around breakfast may involve some maple syrup.

Eggnog French Toast with Caramelized Bananas

Special holidays like Christmas are no different. My love of Christmas, eggnog  and maple syrup led me to create this Eggnog French Toast with Caramelized Bananas.

Eggnog French toast with bananas

I made this Eggnog French toast a few years ago when I was experimenting in the kitchen for my family on Christmas morning and it’s become our tradition.

Thanks for the feature Mel. Your readers will not be disappointed. If eggnog and French toast had a baby, this would be it!

Ok, Lisa. We made this for breakfast this morning, and yum! It was so good! I couldn’t find Challah bread, but we just used regular and it was still delicious. Definitely will be making this again. Thank you for sharing the recipe.

Awesome!!! I am so glad you got make it, Melissa. And I really appreciate you coming back and letting me know how it turned out. Yes, challah bread is a soft, braided Jewish bread that may or may not be easy to find depending on where you live or what store you go to. I like using it in this recipe because of the texture and it does a really good job of soaking up that yummy eggnog. But, as you found out, it can easily be substituted for another type of bread in the recipe.
