I’ve been down with Oprah for a while now. I mean for decades. Oprah is one of those people that everyone wants to invite to the party although you’ve never even met her.

As a matter of fact, ever since her O magazine ambassadorship program started in 2017, I’ve wanted to be down. And now my time is here.

Just last month, I strolled along with my suitcase through Nashville airport and there was a poster of Oprah gracing the walls. My nine year old asked, “You’ve met Oprah Winfrey right?”

Me: “No, I haven’t.”
Rain Drop: “Wow, you haven’t met her YET?!?”.

Clearly my daughter thinks that I’m slipping in the goals making arena.

Just five years before, I attended the Live Your Best Life Tour in Washington DC and scribbled notes about the type of life that I wanted to live. The type of health, relationships, career and family. I wrote me dreams of living life on purpose and having the courage to not just dream but act.

Thousands of people were in attendance. I soaked every piece of information about the weekend up. In fact, I still have my program and notes today. During the actual sessions, I jotted and tweeted fiercely. And then it happened…

For about 3-5 seconds my tweet, my handle, my image made the big screen in front of thousands of people. But as quickly as it happened, the moment didn’t last. My the time I saw it and grabbed my phone, those few seconds were gone.

I was disappointed. But a day or two later, I got a message from a stranger on Twitter. He happened to be looking at the screen and taking pictures when my tweet made the big screen.

Even though capturing the photo was accidental, he searched until he found me on Twitter and sent me the photo. I knew right then and there that this wasn’t mere coincidence.

Somehow I would cross paths with the O team again.  But I didn’t know how.  Now, here we are five years later.

I was told that around three thousand applications were received, and I am honored to have gotten one of the coveted spots as an “Oprah Magazine” or OMagInsider.

As a OmagInsider, I’ll have the opportunity get invited to special events, have access to product exclusives and be aligned with O magazine goals and initiatives. Who knows, you may even spot me in a future O Magazine.

But better than that, I get to share this one of a kind opportunity in a group of some amazing women. Doctors, artists, entrepreneurs creators, world travelers and amazingly smart women…their expertise is vast.

I just can’t think of a better way to end 2019 and step into the new decade. I’ve been working on myself for ten years and this is a sign like no other that I’m moving in the right direction.

This year makes ten years since I started my blogging and online career. And the news of this ambassadorship couldn’t have come at a better time.

I believe in giving everything your all and going out there, following your dreams and living your best life. I’m excited to be an ambassador of a magazine aligns with those values and that celebrates the same.

In celebration of my OmagInsider ambassadorship, I’m giving away one 12 month subscription to O magazine.

Just leave a comment on this post and I’ll select someone this Sunday, December 15th to win.
