How Do You Make Golden Cauliflower Rice?

One of the keys to making riced cauliflower is using the right tools for the job. You can do that using a box grater or a food processor. If using a boxed grater, I suggest cutting a head of cauliflower in no more than four quadrants before grating. Y

You’ll also keep your knuckles safe that way.

Alternatively, you can break it up into cauliflower florets before intermittently pulsing in the food processor.

The other part of this is kind of up for debate. First thing, if you want to make really good cauliflower rice, it should not be soggy. Once the cauliflower has been grated or squeeze the extra water out with a cheese cloth or clean paper towels.

Another way to dry out the riced cauliflower, is by dry roasting it in a sheet pan at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 to 10 minutes. You can also put all the seasonings and other ingredients in the cauliflower and cook it in the oven this way. If you’re opting to cook the cauliflower in the oven versus cooking it on a stovetop, you’ll want to cook it for at least 15 minutes.

What Can I Add to Cauliflower Rice?

For extra flavor, try adding these thing to your cauliflower rice:

  • onion powder
  • coconut milk
  • a squeeze of lemon juice
  • garlic powder

Since this recipe is for the golden cauliflower rice, turmeric is used. You can also use fresh turmeric root. This colorful spice is what gives the cauliflower rice it’s golden color.

What Are The Benefits of Eating Cauliflower Rice?

There are several benefits of eating cauliflower rice. First of all, a head of fresh cauliflower is very affordable. Not only is it affordable, but swapping traditional rice for cauliflower rice is a healthy option that can used as part of a low carb diet.

Since cauliflower is in the family of cruciferous vegetables, the benefits of cauliflower include lowering the risk of inflammation and reduced risk of various types of cancers.

Why Is Cauliflower Rice Healthier Than Regular Rice?

Regular rice or white rice, is mostly empty calories since the germ and bran has been removed. So you’re getting straight carbohydrates devoid of much nutrition. All carbohydrates are not bad, but the wrong type of carbohydrates are a springboard for inflammation, illness and disease.
