Celery cucumber juice is a healthy green juice recipe prepared with just a few ingredients. Made with organic produce, the juice is the perfect combination of whole fruits and vegetables like celery stalks and juicy cucumbers for a natural and healthy and nutritional boost.

Celery and Cucumber Juice Benefits

Drinking fresh juices are a great way to add more vitamins, facilitate weight loss and give a much needed boost to the immune system. I recommend drinking cucumber celery juice in between meals to get even more nutritional value from each delicious glass. Here are some health benefits.

Celery

Celery is an excellent choice to add to this easy recipe. To minimize toxins, just make sure that all your ingredients are organic, that includes using organic celery. As a matter of fact, just plain celery juice is full of health benefits.

Do you remember when everyone was on a celery juice kick a few years ago? Anthony Williams is credited as the originator of the popular diet craze. His best- selling book about celery juice has claimed to heal millions worldwide due to the wide range of celery health benefits.

Anti-inflammatory properties:   Due to the many antioxidants, drinking celery juice can help reduce inflammation, which is associated with chronic illness. Be sure to use both the white and green parts.

Nutrient Dense: Celery contains essential vitamins and minerals. These include vitamin K, folate, vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants. As a result, top wellness experts agree that adding celery to the diet is a smart move as it improves wellness and well-being.

Fiber Filled: Celery juice is a perfect way to improve digestive health. This is because celery is a source of beneficial fiber. Most people don’t get much fiber in their diet. However, fiber has an important role in mandating regular bowel movements and preventing constipation. Additionally, the fiber found in celery is gentle on sensitive digestive systems.

High Water Content: Did you know that celeries are 95% water? The bountiful water content can help keep you hydrated and contributes to good overall health.

Cucumber

Cucumbers are a necessity in this juice. When you’re sourcing cucumbers for this recipe, it’s important  to use organic cucumbers as the skins and the fruit are equally important. You read right, cucumbers are fruits.

Cucumbers have too many health benefits to go through them all here. But, here are a few benefits of cucumbers that make them shine. Interestingly enough, quite a few of the benefits of celery and cucumbers overlap. This makes them the perfect pairing for a delicious and nutritious homemade juice.

Antioxidant: Cucumbers have antioxidant properties due to the presence of  beta-carotene, flavonoids, and vitamin C.  These powerful substances help to neutralize harmful free radicals in the body. Antioxidants play a key role in reducing oxidative stress and inflammation. This helps to lower the risk of chronic illness such as heart disease and certain cancers.

Skin Benefits: Have you ever taken some fresh cucumber slices and placed them under your eyes? Cool cucumber slices are a powerful tool in reducing puffy under eyes and dark circles. As a result of these benefits, you will sometimes find cucumber extract as an ingredient in some of your favorite beauty products.

This is due to the presence of ingredients such as silica, vitamin C and lactic acid found in the juicy fruit. The vitamin C in cucumbers, supports collagen production. This is an essential nutrient for maintaining skin elasticity and hydration. These amazing health benefits extend whether cucumbers are used externally or internally.

Weight Management Diet: Cucumber juice is naturally low in calories and makes a refreshing juice. If you are interested in managing your weight, you’ll be delighted to know that the high fiber and water content help to keep you full and satisfied without many added calories.

Apple

Yes, this recipe is called celery cucumber juice, but you’ll be delighted to know that there are also green apples for some sweetness.

Fiber: The benefits of green apples are many. One of the biggest claims to fame is the fiber content. As a result, not only do apples fill you up, but apple skins contain both soluble and insoluble fiber which help to beat high blood sugar.

Note: You can use red apples instead, but green apples have slightly more fiber, contain less sugar and tend to have a more impressive nutrient profile than red apples. Moat impressive is the fact that green apples contain twice the amount of vitamin A!

Amazing right?

These are the kinds of things that you learn by reading blogs.

You’ll also find green apple as an ingredient in my detox cilantro juice recipe

Fresh Ginger

I love ginger so much that the ingredient is mentioned a total 42 times in my book, Be FINE!

There’s a lot I could talk about with ginger, but let’s focus it’s anti-inflammatory benefits.

Anti-Inflammatory: When it comes to anti-inflammatory benefits, ginger is one of the most powerful tools to have in your toolbox. As a result, the powerful rhizome has been used in medicine for centuries.

Some ways to witness these anti-inflammatory benefits in action are improved digestion, reduced pain and better gastrointestinal health.

Spinach

Spinach is a wonderful addition to fresh juices and smoothies. As a best practice, I personally add a handful of frozen spinach to most smoothies I make.

Iron: Iron is an important mineral that the body utilizes for blood red blood cell formation, immune function, brain health, oxygen transport as well as hair and skin health.

While non-heme iron (which is found in plants like spinach) is present, it is not as readily absorbed as heme iron (which is found in animal based products). As a result, the addition of vitamin C rich foods, whenever you eat spinach is beneficial.

This is why the following ingredient (listed below) is crucial.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice not only adds a fresh burst to this healthy juice but it’s a good source of vitamin C.

Vitamin C: Vitamin C is an essential vitamin to the human body. Some key benefits are immune function, collagen synthesis and vitamin C absorption.
