I admit, I’m somewhat of what you would call a bacon snob. That means that if I’m going to have bacon, it has to be good. These maple glazed bacon roses are exactly that.

Step-By-Step Instructions

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup after.
Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together the sugar, and paprika until well combined.
Step 3: Dip each bacon strip in the bowl so that the sugar mixture evenly coats both sides of the bacon. Press it gently to make sure that the mixture adheres.

Step 4: Roll each bacon slice tightly into a rose shape, starting from one end and rolling it towards the other, secure the end of the bacon strip and meaty part of the bacon with a toothpicks to maintain the shape. Place a second toothpick if necessary.
Step 5: Place the bacon roses upright in a prepared baking pan. Ensure they are spaced apart to make sure that they cook evenly.

Step 6: In a small measuring cup or mixing bowl, add the cayenne pepper to the maple syrup and mix together.
Step 7: Pour the mixture on top of the bacon.

Step 8: Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and golden. Watch the bacon closely during the last few minutes to avoid burning.
