Building a blog is a lot of work. It’s hard work that very few people understand. As a matter of fact, I still spend a great deal of time explaining to friends and family exactly what I do here at The Domestic Life Stylist. But when Taste of Home offered to sponsor my ticket for the Build Your Blog Conference 2015 (BYBC) in Salt Lake City Utah, I jumped at the chance to attend.

In it’s third year, the BYBC conference hones in on education, connections and growth.

Education

One of the things I really enjoyed about #BYBC was the massive amounts of educational opportunities. Everything from delving into Google analytics, getting started with social media and how to generate more income was available to bloggers on beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Signing up to listen to Paul Ivanovsky talk about working with the media was a no brainer for me.

Taste of Home (the number on cooking magazine in the world), held a “cooking event” which gave food bloggers the scoop on food tastes and trends.

Connections

Over 700 bloggers attended the BYBC 2015 conference. The majority of the attendees hailed from the Salt Lake city area which is apparently a “hotbed” for bloggers. Who knew? I met the friendliest ladies at the conference. One of my roommates (Carissa) took me to a swank little cookie shop for the best cookies. I’m not sure if Carissa knows it or not but, food is definitely the way to my heart. I’m afraid that she is stuck with me now.

Not one to miss any opportunity to get fabulous, I brought along some To go Spa eyegels to the conference to get ready for the Blogger of the Year Gala held on Saturday evening.

The gala was complete with prizes and “The Strike band”.

Congrats to all the bloggers that won that evening.

Growth

If you want to grow as an entrepreneur, as a blogger…as a person, you have to be willing to change. Change your environment, change your mindset, change your actions. The Build Your Blog Conference was jammed packed with opportunities to grow and I am super excited that I got to educate, connect and grow with such a fabulous group of people.

Thanks for the memories #SLC and @buildyourblogconf. It's been real. #tasteofhome
