The only thing I like better than breakfast is brunch. I get giddy when I find a great breakfast spot. That’s just what Founding Farmers is. The mantra at Founding Farmers is “quality and natural ingredients”. Actually, as the name of the restaurant suggests, Founding Farmers is a celebration of the American farmer. We stumbled on Founding Farmers after spending a night in the city for the Oprah Life You Want Tour, where this happened…

Oprah Life You Want

So much fun!

Breakfast started out with a a pot coconut green tea because the only thing better than a cup of green tea in the morning is cup of green tea infused with coconut.

Then it was onto the mainstays.

My family of four devoured:

Bourban French Toast

Beignets served with caramel, strawberry and chocolate sauces

Strawberry and Cream Waffles

I’m usually reluctant about ordering waffles for breakfast because most places don’t get the texture right and many times the waffles lack depth in flavor. These waffles had both a great texture (slightly crispy on outside, soft and fluffy on the inside) and flavor.

Scrambled Eggs with Cured Ham

We also ordered a sausage, mushroom and spinach and scramble. What can I say? There are so many options at Founding Farmers. There is something for everyone and from what I tasted I would go back for sure.

And those beignets…you just have to try those.

Based on this post, I’ll pay them a visit. Breakfast is my least favorite meal of the day but those beignets look irresistable!

I hope you get to try it Rosalind. For some reason it hadn’t occurred to me to write a blog post about the Oprah Life Your Want Weekend. I guess that’s because I was updating about the experience on social media. Look out for it in the near future. 🙂

Me too Arlene. My only regret is that I didn’t know about it sooner.

Wow, the food looks amazingly delicious. What an interesting place to eat; it sounds like a great place for breakfast. One of my favorite meals of the day, even breakfast for dinner.:) Thanks for sharing at Inspire Me Wednesday. Featuring you in this week’s issue.
