Recently I was lifted into a sugar high. I mean a real sugar high from Sugar Shack Donuts. I didn’t even know that this place existed. But on a recent trip to Richmond, VA I stumbled upon the place and had to stop.

And boy am I glad we did.
Donuts. Lots and lots of donuts fill this place. I want to tell you about the flavors that the Sugar Shack offer but guess what? The flavors change every 15 minutes.
You read right. Every 15 minutes. The staff calls it “baker’s choice”.
I call them delicious.
Here’s what I can tell you. During our approximately 25 minute visit, someone in a flour dusted apron came from the kitchen holding trays of airy, fried, sugary and sticky goodness.
So naturally we ordered a few. Something with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups for me because…hey, it’s Reese’s. The princess is genetically programmed to get anything and everything with sprinkles and/or M&M’s, so that’s what she got.
After that, it’s all a blur. We kind of just threw some extra donuts in there for good measure.
Look at the size of these things! You know she inhaled it right?
But, I can’t say much because at one point I may or may not have been eating two donuts at one time. By the way, since we’re on the topic, how do you spell these sweet treats doughnuts or donuts? Either way, I’m sold.
If you ever get to visit Sugar Shack Donuts, make sure you scribble some amazing flavor idea on the board before you leave. I didn’t. But you totally should. I was trying to convince my one year old to leave sugary and tasty happenings of the Sugar Shack.
