5 Things to Do with Your Family After the Thanksgiving Meal

After you’ve add your fill of turkey and all the trimmings what are you going to do next? You should have a plan because if you don’t, pretty soon the kids will start complaining that they’re bored or someone will get in a meaningless argument. Trust me on this. To avoid all of that, here are some ideas on what to do with your family after Thanksgiving dinner.

Clean Up

I know that this won’t be popular but after everyone eats and eats again, it’s time to clean up. Get everyone to pitch in with dishes, garbage and putting away any leftovers and you’ll be finished in no time. Once “clean up” is out of the way, it’s time for some guilt-free play.

Have a Family Game Night

Some of our favorite family games are Square Up, UNO and Zingo. A family that plays together, stays together.

Decorate the Christmas Tree

If you have already picked out a Christmas tree, this would be a great time to start finding all of last year’s decorations and actually begin decorating it. If you haven’t bought your Christmas tree yet, then you can take the decorations out the boxes, check for broken bulbs, plug in string lights and see if they actually work. Make a note of what you need and use free 2 day shipping so that you’ll have Christmas decorations by this weekend.

Go to the Movies

Ralph Breaks the Internet was just released in theaters and the movie is so much fun. We got a sneak peek before the official release and now my kids just won’t stop talking about it. Ralph Breaks the Internet is an animated sequel to Wreck it Ralph that came out in 2012. There’s something in the film for everyone… whether you like princesses, fast cars or video games.

Since Thanksgiving Day is the biggest movie going day of the year, use a site like Fandango to check showtimes and locations. Buy movie tickets ahead of time to skip the lines and save time.

Ralph Breaks the Internet is rated PG for action and some humor. I have a 5 year old and an 8 year old and this movie was just fine for them.

Look Through Family Photos

Who doesn’t like looking through family photos? We’re all guilty of sharing a picture or two on Facebook and then letting letting the rest of the memories die a slow and grueling death. Well until of course, Facebook brings up the photo a year or more later as a “Facebook Memory”.

While you’re walking down memory lane, this may be good time to start organizing your family photos too. Companies like Snapfish and Shutterfly sell photo books and reflection books, making it easy to organize memories in one spot.

As a matter of fact, there are already pre black Friday deals with prices over 70% off. Sign up with Ebates and get 10% cashback at Snapfish.

Getting that little Ebates Google Chrome extension, really helps to never miss out on savings and keep track of any earned cashback.

What do you and your family do after the eating festivities of Thanksgiving are over? I’d love to hear if you have any ideas or traditions.
