It’s January and for most people that means it’s officially time to curl up and eat something comforting and calorie dense. The glitz and glamour of the holidays are gone and many people are trying not to fall off the bandwagon when it comes to those new year resolutions. Here are five healthy soup recipes for National Soup Month that are simple to make, immune boosting and are the best thing to put on your meal plan this month.

5 Healthy Soup Recipes to Keep Warm this Winter

1) Healthy Potato Leek Soup

This soup is perfect for “Meatless Monday” or any other day of the week. It’s dairy free, gluten-free, affordable and so easy to make. By the way, this healthy potato soup recipe will do a great job at filling you up too. Use a blender to whip it up fast.

2) Kale Lentil Sausage Soup

One of the best things about the kale lentil sausage soup is that you can set it and forget it. The best kind of recipe because you can set it up and go on about your business. In a few hours, you’ll have a healthy low carb meal to meet your needs. Do you own a slowcooker? It’s a great tool to use to get healthy meals on the table especially in the winter months.

3) Spiced Butternut Squash Soup

Spiced butternut squash soup is one of my favorite healthy soup recipes. This is another healthy vegan soup recipe. This butternut squash soup is filled with gut healthy and immune boosting ingredients like cayenne pepper, allspice and cinnamon. It’ll be sure to warm up especially in the cold weather months.

4) Roasted Carrot Ginger Soup

I can already smell the deliciousness already. If you’re looking for healthy soup recipes, this carrot ginger soup is it. This is the time of year that not only are people looking for healthy family recipes, but the food has to taste good too.

Carrots have a naturally sweet flavor that shine through especially upon roasting.

5) Tomato and Red Pepper Soup

Do you remember that Campbell tomato soup commercial where the little boy was craving tomato soup and his mom comes to his rescue while he’s on his “camping trip”?

First of all, why is that commercial over 20 years old? Secondly, his mom should have made some of my tomato and red pepper soup instead. This homemade tomato soup recipe has less sodium, is dairy free, immune boosting and doesn’t come from a can. He could have had a side of immune boosting with his meal.

Oh well…there’s still hope for you.

Which one of these winter soup recipes will you try for National Soup Month. Try one or try them all and see what you think.
