Let’s face it, kids can be picky. As much as parents have a desire to feed their children healthy foods the challenges are many. That’s why consistency is so important. Let’s face it. No child needs to be taught to appreciate salty and sugary foods. Getting some kids to eat fruits and vegetables on the latter, is like playing hard ball. If children are going to have a chance at adapting healthy eating habits as a lifestyle versus a fad, then parents have to start early.

To do so, I sharing some healthy snack ideas that can help get your kids eating habits on the right track.

5 healthy and tasty snack ideas that kids will love

Chia Pudding

One of my favorite kids healthy snacks to make has to be chia pudding. Not only does it taste great but it’s oh so good. This is one of those recipes that you can make ahead and the kids can just grab and go.

Smoothies

Smoothies are an easy way to use up leftover fruits and veggies. They pack a whole lot of nutrition in a tasty beverage. Using my BlendTec blender allows me whip one up in 30 seconds flat. This berrylicious kale  and strawberry pineapple smoothies are consistent kids favorites. You can make serving smoothies even more fun by using these colorful cute paper straws.

Mamma Chia

When I stumbled upon Mama Chia earlier this year it was completely by accident. Of course, each product contains chia seeds. Also, each Chia Squeeze comes in an easy to carry pouch, which makes it a great option for kids.

Fresh Fruit

An oldie but definitely not a choice to be overlooked, fresh fruit is always a great healthy snack idea for kids. You can serve fruits plain or dress it up like I did with almond butter.

Kale Chips

I know what you’re thinking…children don’t eat kale. That’s where you’re wrong. It must be how crispy these kale chips are… my kids love them. The great part about it is, kale chips are so easy to make too. I’ve even used kale chips to jazz up this bacon, egg and cheese baked potato. Whether it’s eaten as a snack, used as a topping on a salad or side, you just can’t go wrong.

Have you tried any of these snacks? What snacks do your kids enjoy?

My children enjoy all the ones you’ve mentioned. My 11 year old doesn’t even let me get them off the pan before she starts eating them. My 9 year old is the same with with Brussells sprout chips. My 4 year old loves loves loves cherry tomatoes. We also all love popcorn cooked old school on the stove top.

Sounds so yummy. Gotta love Brussells sprouts, Not sure why they get such a bad rap? Cooking them in the oven is the way to go.
