Now that the New Year almost here, it’s a good time to read some books and get your health back on track. Maybe you want to find a way to jump start your health or find a way to incorporate more health and wellness overall for you and your family. Whatever YOU choose as your mental mindset for the New Year moving forward is entirely up to you!
But, I’ve been doing some reading. And what I came across deserves to be shared. A few years ago I had a much needed health awakening. I mean, I was “healthy and active”. Or at least I thought… and then something shifted. Even as a healthcare professional, there was so much that I didn’t know. You can’t “unhear” what you’ve heard. You can’t “unsee” what you’ve seen. You can’t unlearn what you’ve learned. There so much that you need to know. But first you have to be open. And then, there’s a great possibility that you will change your life.
Give yourself time to really sit down and prioritize yourself and your health this upcoming year. God knows how crazy things have been for almost 2 years now. But at least you have your good health, or at least I hope so. This book list is an excellent place to get back on the right track. Here some books to jump start your health in the New Year.
Books to Jump Start Your Health in the New Year
When it comes to health, many people tend to put the word “health” into one category, but that just isn’t the case. The term “health” can actually mean a variety of things! Mental health, physical health, emotional health…all of those are items that each and every one of us can work on to improve our overall health for the New Year!
And if you are anything like me, finding great books to read is something that you will find extremely helpful. Reading allows you to absorb the words and really focus on ways to improve and apply those suggestions and readings to your everyday life. Check out these books and see if they give you inspiration for a healthy New Year ahead.
Wheat Belly: Lose the Fat. Lose the Weight, Find Your Way Back to Health
What can I say? This book was eye-opening and will change the perceptions of what you know and thought to be true. Wheat Belly is a great place to start exploring, learning and challenging your thought process when it comes to food. I love that includes science and case studies too!
Undoctored: Why Health Care Has Failed You and How You Can Become Smarter Than Your Doctor
For those of you at your wits end about what to do for your health, crack open the cover on this read. It’s informative and eye-opening and there will be something within the pages that really resonates with you. I call it the human instruction manual for health. Undoctored will help you take back your power when it comes to health and wellness.
Moving Toward Balance: 8 Weeks of Yoga with Rodney Lee
Meditation and yoga can be a great way to find mental and emotional balance in your life. This 8 Weeks of Yoga with Rodney Lee was gifted to me by a friend. And I’m so glad she shared this gift of wellness with me. It will break down an 8 week plan for you to see if you can find the inner peace and mental health that you are seeking.
No Grain No Pain: A 30 Day Diet for Eliminating the Root Cause of Chronic Pain
This is another one of my favorites. Sometimes, we just need someone to lay it out all there for us and to create a plan of action. I actually don’t like the use of the word, “diet” for this book but truth be told, it’s good. So many truth bombs and nuggets. I recommend No Grain No Pain to just about everyone. Don’t be fooled though, you should read this book even if you don’t yet have signs of pain.
Your Body’s Many Cries for Water: You’re Not Sick You’re Thirsty
Did you know that water can play a huge role in our everyday health? I was amazed what I read and astonished that Your Body’s Many Cries for Water, was not part of my Doctoral studies or any health curriculum that I’ve seen. His book does a great job of explaining and breaking down the importance of staying hydrated on a daily basis. And it’s more than about quenching thirst. But you have to read more to find out.
Awe crap…who am I fooling? I couldn’t limit the list to just five books.
BONUSES:
Prescription for Natural Cures ( A Self-Care Guide for Treating Health Problems with Natural Remedies Including Diet, Nutrition, Supplements and Other Holistic Methods
I continuously refer to this book time and time again for the plethora of remedies and suggestions. I like that fact that Prescription for Natural Cures is written by two medical doctors too! Think of it as a manual of sorts but, instead of being a manual for your tv, it’s a manual for your body.
The Brain Warriors Way Cookbook: Over 100 Recipes to Ignite Energy & Focus
If recipes are what you’re looking for, pick up this best selling cookbook from authors Tana Amen and Daniel Amen. It contains the wholesome recipes you need to get you healthy new year off to a great start. Over 200 reviews can’t be wrong.
Dirty Genes: A Breakthrough Program to Treat the Root Cause of Disease
This book may be a bit overwhelming at first but, just give it a chance. Everything will start making so much more sense to you once you go through it.
It’s not the most easy read, but everything will start making sense once you get through it.
The DNA and book will help identify your Dirty Genes and what to do to ”fix them”. Now, that what I call health empowerment!
Put yourself first in the New Year, and take charge of your health. Whatever ailments you are having, you may find that one of these books listed above might be a huge help for you and your body. Remember, if you aren’t willing to take charge of your own body and wellness, no one is going to do it for you! Be the change for yourself, and make 2022 the year all about “you”.
