Don’t you just love the beach? There are a few things that come to mind when I think of summer: travel, ice cream and the beach. Since I grew up in the Caribbean, the beach was a place that I went all year long. But whether you are going to a local beach or a beach on the exotic island of Bali, there are beach bag essentials that no beach babe should be without.

1.Sunscreen
No matter your skin tone, protecting your skin against harmful UVA/UVB is top priority at the beach. So pack a sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 for your beach trip. Don’t forget to re-apply every 2 hours. Here are a few more health minded brands you’ll want in your bag.
2. Water
Not all beaches come equipped with beach attendants or restaurants nearby so make sure you walk with a bottle of water to keep hydrated.
Here’s a water bottle you may like. It keeps cold water cold for hours.
3. Towels & Beach Blankets
Bring a thirsty towel to dab off all that salt water that comes from a day at the beach. Unless, the beach you are going to has towels and beach butlers, than this is top priority. I love that you can even get these engraved.
4. Good Book or Glossy Magazine
Everyone has a different agenda for their beach day. Some people get into water sports while other just like to chill. But if your kids will let you, bring a good book or glossy magazine do some reading. This book list, is a great place to start.
5. Hair Conditioner
Depending on your type and texture, coating your strands with hair conditioner prior to taking a dip may be a good idea. Some conditioner and styling products even contain sunscreen.
6. Elastic Hair Bands
Headbands or elastic bands are a always a good idea especially for longer hair. It you do use elastic hair ties, make sure that they’re snag free.
7. Beach Playlist
A great day at the beach deserves a great beach playlist. If you don’t have one then you can borrow mine.
8. Lip Balm with Sunscreen
Sunscreen is an important part of any outdoor activity. As you are getting prepped your day at the beach, be sure not to forget your lips as well.
9. Sunglasses
Protecting our eyes and vision is top priority. Remember that sunburn can occur on the retina of the eye also. And as if that’s not motivation just remember…crow’s feet.
10. Wide brimmed hat
Wide brim hats are great for keeping the skin supple and wrinkles at bay. Not to mention, a great looking beach hat just looks fab!
