I am sure that you have heard of the saying “stop and smell the roses”. During springtime in and around Washington DC, I enjoy stopping to smell the cherry blossoms.
These delicate flowers are beautiful. They are transient… and for up to 2 weeks of 365 they take center stage.
These beauties remind me that as busy as life gets, we should always make time to stop and appreciate God’s gifts.
After all, He made them for us. So if you are in or around Washington DC, during the spring be sure to STOP and take in the fragrance and beauty of the cherry blossom trees.
There are so many options on where to go to appreciate cherry blossoms. Granted, if you go during the weekend or during the National Cherry Blossom festival, it will be crowded. I took some time to appreciate these natural beauties at East Potomac park later in the day after the crowds had subsided.
