I grew up not liking fish sticks. It would not be presumptuous to say that I even despised them. They were mushy at my elementary school cafeteria and lacked flavor even for my miniature taste buds at the time. But, since I am writing this recipe I guess that you can assume that times have changed.
Since March is Frozen Foods Month, I took advantage of the sales on some frozen items such as Mrs Paul’s Frozen Fish Sticks. I guess being made with 100% whole fish fillets makes a difference.
Ingredients
(Tartar Sauce)
1 cup mayo
1 tbsp relish
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp old bay
fresh cracked pepper to taste
(Fish Tacos)
Mrs Paul’s crunchy fish sticks
Flour tortillas
prepared tartar sauce (as little or as much as desired)
fresh romaine lettuce
Directions
- Add relish, old bay seasoning, lemon juice and black pepper to mayonnaise
- Mix well and set aside
- Cook desired amount of fish sticks according to package instructions (3 fish sticks/wrap)
- Remove fish from oven
- Heat desired number of tortilla wraps between 2 wet paper towels for 30 seconds or until soft
- Assemble crunchy fish tacos placing the lettuce first, fish, then homemade tartar sauce
- Wrap and enjoy!
Bon appétit!
